The Positive and Negative thread - Slaven Bilič

Now don't pretend you haven't missed this thread. I always tried to be balanced with it but found that my hatred of the Slob made that hard and my boredom with the football made it more and more difficult to find positives. But new enthusiasm, new excitement and new optimism means you'll get your wish of more of these threads.
Positives:
His appointment has united all true West Ham fans with a sense of excitement that has long been missing. One of the things I wanted from the new manager was to unite the fans and he was one of a few that could do that - also think it important we have a man in charge that gets a honeymoon period, we've not had that for the last few.
A man who while only having been here for a year before clearly gets us. He came across better in one interview than the slob did in his whole time. That counts for a lot in my book.
He sports a beard well. Will smarten up the touchline by miles.
He isn't the slob that shall no longer be named
Fordy and comma hate him
Negatives:
Who cares - Fordy hates him. That's enough to wipe out any negatives!

Let's get something clear here. Hate is a corrosive and wasteful emotion. I do not hate Bilic but I do dislike him as a sportsman.
Anyway the positive is he's not BFS.
The negative is his lack of premiership experience.

In the old days and to a lesser degree now, West Ham always stuck by West Ham NO MATTER what. That's why Sam was hounded out as he was never WHU from his first press conference stating that West Ham were losers and dismissing our fantastic history.
Bilic has come out with exactly the sort of things a manager of West Ham needs to say, awareness of the club, it's history, realistic targets and the love of cups. Not one mention of himself like Sam always did.
RodFarts insistence on slating anything West Ham and reveling in it makes me think he must be a very new fan, maybe less than 15 years old and going through a tough time at school at the moment what with GCSE results on the horizon.
It is a shame as he ended up right in many ways about Noble but this immediate damnation of Bilic shows he loves a bit of a moan with no real back up to it.
Betting on West Ham having a terrible start? nice one Rodfarts.

Bilic is a polished performer compared to the blunt midlander. He has buttered us up like a good politician would by telling us just what we want to hear and making us feel good about ourselves.
No wonder he impressed at his interview.

It was a WORLD CUP SEMI FINAL FFS & HIS TEAM WERE A GOAL DOWN IN THE FINAL FEW MINUTES!

Hahahaha you what spotter son?
He's been going on for almost 10 years about him not being good enough. In the mean time he's our record premiership appearance holder, still here in the premiership and has a very good chance of being made full time captain of you guessed it, a premiership club.
A few shit performances the back end of last season does not make 10 years of hate right.

I only really noticed him about Noble after we played Tottenham before we went down under grant.
He played right wing and was woeful, and I agreed with some stuff. That's at least 5 years right there!

I actually think he's quite scruffy. But that's not a negative for me anyway.
Lots of positives in this. Only negative I can really muster is that there's the big unknown about how he'll fare as a manager in this league. I am slightly anxious about that. And gale was right in his interview earlier. We HAVE to start well or he could have his back up against the wall quite early on. I've no reason to think we won't, unless the fixture list is especially cruel to us.
